Satsuma is located in Putnam County, Florida. The county is centrally located between Jacksonville, Gainesville, St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. Its county seat is Palatka, conveniently located just twelve miles from River Villas Community. The main campus of the St. Johns River State College is located in Palatka, as well as all major grocery stores and drug stores. The Palatka Mall is anchored by JC Penney and the Palatka Movie Theater. Surrounding the mall are Home Depot, Lowe’s and a Walmart Superstore. Downtown Palatka is also home of the annual Blue Crab Festival and Azalea Festival.
